Wheelchair Foundation: Money for another wheelchair

» Home » News and Events » News Items » Stephen Glass raises money for yet another wheelchair

The Wheelchair Foundation provides wheelchairs for those who need a wheelchair but cannot afford one. Rotary International in Great Britain (RIBI) joined forces in this mission with The Wheelchair Foundation UK in 2006. To date, over 600,000 wheelchairs have been delivered to over 140 countries.

Sheila & Stephen have raised the money for wheelchairs in 3 different ways.

First we have used the wheelchair CD to show to the children from Newchurch CP school in Culcheth and Croft Primary school . Both schools collected the money whilst holding charity fun days & have each raised over £250 which paid for 5 wheelchairs from each school.

The second way is through social contacts e.g. Newton Bridge Club & Croft Formation Drinking Team (re. Beer festival)

Thirdly is through persuading work contacts to collect amongst Staff or by approaching bosses & asking directly for £50, using the Rotary article in the newspaper

We have now raised enough for 16 wheelchairs
