Warrington Youth Orchestra

Warrington Youth Orchestra is a charitable organisation offering three symphony orchestras of increasing standard for the youth of Warrington & the surrounding areas, aged from 8 to 21. Rehearsals are at Bridgewater High School (Upper Site) each Saturday morning in school term time. They give several concerts each year, at Bridgewater High School or the Parr Hall. All conductors & sectional assistants are professional musicians. There is a residential training course each October in Cumbria mixing high quality musical training with exciting outdoor activities led by fully qualified instructors. There are exchange visits with the Musikschüle in Hilden, & an annual joint concert with the Wirral Youth Orchestra.

Walton Lea Employment Project

Trains & educates young people with learning difficulties towards employment within a real working environment & open employment off site e.g. gardening, joinery etc. This service also provides opportunities for people to improve their qualifications by training to NVQ Levels I & II.

Sea Cadets

Voluntary youth organisation, for young people aged 10 to 18. The organisation is designed to promote personal development, social inclusion & citizenship amongst young people, whatever their background, race, creed or colour. The aim is to provide Cadets with structured training for good citizenship, in an organised, disciplined & stimulating environment.

Life Straws

The LifeStraw is a personal water purification device turning any water into drinking water. It costs less than the price of a cup of coffee. Distribution will be via the Shelterbox organisation who will send them when called for - to disasters & areas of great need around the world.

Life Education Programme

Educating children about the effects and risks associated with the use of drugs, including alcohol and tobacco. The health education programme is targeted at 4 – 11 year-olds and aims to help them make healthy choices in their life-styles.

The Butterfly Project

Direct, individualised 1:1 support is available for these young people & their family members. Additionally, NCH Butterfly Project Bereavement Service provides free training, advice, consultancy, support & resources to professionals including Health, Education & Social Care staff who may come into contact with bereaved children.

Jaipur Limb Project

A Jaipur Limb is an artificial leg, developed at the Mahaveer hospital in Jaipur, India. The unique component is the Jaipur foot, a clever combination of wood & various densities of rubber vulcanised into a realistic looking brown foot. It is hard-wearing & will last for three or four years, longer if worn with a shoe. One of the major differences between the Jaipur technology & western technology is the cost - whereas a western limb will cost between £1,000.00 & £2,000.00, a Jaipur limb can be made & fitted for as little as £25.00.
