2006 Beer Festival
Oktoberfest 10: Another record year!

With takings up over last year, this - our 10th Anniversary saw just over £14,000 raised for charities and good causes – both local and international, bringing the 10 year total to about £95,000. This year we had a beer from every brewery in Cheshire. Over 3,000 pints of real ales and cider were consumed, but even so, there were no recorded incidents of drunken or disorderly behaviour, and we only had 2 broken glasses to clean up over the 3 day event! This is testimony to the great crowd of people we get coming, many of whom are regulars and have been to all 10 events! The event has now an established reputation for serving quality fine cask ales, ciders and bottled beers from all over the world.
From over 70 cask ales, two Warrington breweries featured in the top 3 places in voting for the best beer:
1st ‘Brightblade’ – All Gate Brewery, Wigan
2nd ‘I can’t believe it’s not lager – Thomas Hardy Brewery, Warrington
3rd ‘Blueberry’ – Coach House Brewery, Warrington
